Police in Zimbabwe confirmed 30 people died and 36 others were injured when a bus collided with a commuter minibus on the main road between the capital Harare and Bulawayo on Friday.
“I can confirm there was a horrific road accident yesterday involving a conventional bus and a minibus,” said police spokesperson Charity Charamba.
The accident came days after five people were killed in another collision resulting from a burst tyre.

Officer Charamba said the accident happened when one of the buses had a tyre burst and veered onto the opposite side of the road.
Road accidents are common in the country with disintegrated highways after an economic plunge that led to neglect in infrastructure.
